Stephen Sundarrao, CEO

Stephen Sundarrao is the Associate Director of the Center for Rehabilitation Engineering and Technology at the University of South Florida’s College of Engineering and CEO of Rehab Ideas, a company formed in collaboration with USF to commercialize innovative rehabilitation technologies developed at USF.. His undergraduate and graduate education is in Mechanical Engineering and he has nearly 20 years experience as a rehabilitation engineer and over 10 years experience managing a statewide Rehabilitation Technology program. He is certified by RESNA as an Assistive Technology Practioner and Rehabilitation Engineer. He served on the Board of Directors of the National Mobility Equipment Dealers Association (NMEDA) for three years, National Health Advisory Board for the Museum of Science & Industry (MOSI) and the Florida Department of Health’s Disability Taskforce on Bioterrorism. He currently teaches the Capstone Design Course for senior mechanical engineering students, which develops 10-15 new innovative technologies for individuals with disabilities annually. He regularly presents papers at national and international conferences. His research interests include advanced vehicle modifications, ergonomics and mobility devices for individuals with disabilities. He recently received the Presidential Award from NMEDA and an award from the University of Miami for Course Development and Recruitment for their online training in AT. He is actively involved with the State VR program to develop policy and training for better integration of Rehabilitation Technology Services. He is on the advisory board for the Rehabilitation Engineering Research Center on Wheelchair Transportation Safety at the University of Michigan. He is recognized as the 2008 ‘Engineer of the Year’ by the American Society of Mechanical Engineers and was awarded the Florida Governor’s Point of Light Award for his service in 2007



Dana Roeling, COO

Dana worked with Hillsborough County Schools for 10 years as an educator, and Administrative Resource Teacher in the Language Arts Department as the writing specialist. She then moved to The National Mobility Dealers Association (NMEDA) and was their Executive Director for the last 6 years. During her term, she transformed the organization from a small group of dealer members to an international body representing vehicle manufacturers (GM, Ford, Toyota, Chrysler), adaptive equipment manufacturers, dealers, rehabilitation professionals and government agencies (Veterans Association, and the National Highway Transportation Safety Administration). She brings valuable contacts and management skills that will be critical to the success of the company. She has lived in Tampa for the last 22 years and is married and has two grown sons. She holds a Bachelor's degree from Loyola University in New Orleans and a Masters in Leadership from Nova Southeastern University


John Trivento, Director of Sales & Marketing

John Trivento has extensive , progressive experience in sales ,marketing and operations having spent over thirty years in executive level positions in the manufacturing and service industry A former educator John brings with him passion ,drive and energy along with some highly successful management and interpersonal skills which will be critical in assisting the Rehab Ideas management team in their mission to positively impact the lives of people with disabilities with innovations for independence. John has lived in Tampa for twenty five years and is married with three grown children. John holds a Bachelor of Arts from St. John's University and a Masters of Science from City University of New York
