Jimmy Smith, at a presentation before the Rec.Therapy Dept.of the James A. Haley VA Hospital

"I had my Trayaway installed last week and have found it to be very useful .I have used it as I attended school in the classroom where I was able to support my laptop and work very comfortably with it directly in front of me instead of as in the past deployed on a desk where I would have great difficulty working on and seeing my laptop due to the distance since my power chair could only get so close to the desk. It has made learning and attending school a whole lot easier.

"Yesterday I attended a major league spring training game and was able to use the Trayaway to hold my drink and food as a table making the viewing of the game much more enjoyable. I did not have to ask for help from anyone to pass my drink or food since it was there right in front of me on the Trayaway. In both the classroom and the ball park when I was done using the Trayawy I simply put it away and went about my business without having to ask anyone for assistance. Independence is what it is all about."

Michael Foradori, first purchaser of the Mobili-T Rover™ from Rehab Ideas to an interviewer from Fox News

"It’s a great opportunity not only for me, but there are other people out there, you know, that might be lacking this experience. You know, something that can give people hope because everybody else can go out and ride a four wheeler. Now I can too."

Rehab Ideas awarded State University Research Commercialization Grant.

Rehab Ideas has been awarded a State University Research Commercializaation Grant (SURCAG) by the Florida Technology, Research, and Scholarship Board (FTRSB). The 2010 Florida Legislature appropriated $2 million for this very successful Program, which makes awards at three different funding levels, two of which must be supported by external matching dollars, according to three different phases of commercialization activity.

Beyond the technical, financial, organizational, and marketing feasibility of a
proposal, the legislation specifies the following success criteria for SURCAG
awards:

• potential return to the university

• potential for the creation of high-wage jobs

• potential for addressing pressing needs of Floridians

• potential to enhance the economic competitiveness of Florida and the
university

• potential to create other related business enterprises.

Rehab Ideas is proud and honored to be recognized by this exceptional support for our work.
